Maharashtra really has some gems tucked in remote corners of the state kashid is one of them. A small village a approx a 3 km long clean and beautiful beach. The journey from Mumbai is very smooth, take the Mumbai Goa highway, go up till Alibagh…just before u will enter the main Alibagh ask for the road which goes to kashid …it’s a small turn on ur left which can be easily missed…so take care. Once u have taken that turn its looks like as if u are in goa…marsh land on both sides of the road…..small hills around…villages with houses looking like heritage structures standing peaceful in dense coconut and palm plantations. And the most amazing site is a long stretch of beach with fisherman boats and some plantation along the road till u cross over a small hill to reach Kashid village. .jpg)
There are lot of private bungalows on the beach …but incase u are not one of those lucky ones whose uncle or friend own a bungalow there then the options are few. Kashid has one 4 star kind of resort and a few other decent places on the Hill just across the beach. On weekends the beach very crowded in the day with lot of college students and families coming for picnic. There are lot of shacks in the woods on the beach serving Maggie, bhutta, chai, some snacks and nariyal pani…but they shut shop as soon as it gets dark. So the best time to enjoy the beach is early morning and around 5ish in the evening one can just hang around in the woods on the hammocks near a shack and enjoy some chai pakoda. It’s a typical weekend place but incase u have time u can go ahead to Murud Janjira which is about and hour from there to see the Janjira fort. But I would suggest just chill in the cool blue waters of the beach.
Refresh yourself with water and sand therapy by walking without slippers on the wet sand early in the morning. Just sit and let the wind take away all your stress. Enjoy the sunset so that u can wake up to a fresh and happy sunrise.Best Time to go - Dec to March, Rainy season is also fine, It’s too hot in Summer’s
